Honk if You Heart Sodomy Posters and Art

Description: Inspired by a real-life historical protest slogan unfurled by LGBTQ+ activists after the Supreme Court ruled in Bowers v. Hardwick in 1986! Protestors revealed a giant banner with a hand-written slogan to protest state laws that infringed on the rights of queer people. Though the 1986 ruling upheld those laws, the court would later rule in Lawrence v. Texas (2003) that the Bowers decision was wrong when it was written and wrong today.

Thank God I'm Queer Posters and Art

Description: Inspired by a famous protest sign that appeared at numerous LGBTQ+ liberation events in San Francisco. "Thank God I'm Gay" is a piece of queer history: It was printed in big block letters and often held next to religious protestors at Pride, at rallies for nondiscrimination bills, and at the front door of City Hall. Wording has been updated to be inclusive of more genders and orientations, but the spirit is the same: It's a blessing.
